Veteran Guitarist Scott Henderson Praises the Maxon SD-9 Sonic Distortion Pedal
"The Maxon SD-9 is the best distortion pedal EVER made, period. It has the clarity and punch you get from a pedal, while retaining the low bass you get with amp distortion. The SD-9 is one of the rare pedals which sound equally great on both the neck and bridge pickups, whether they're humbucking or single coil. It's been a very important part of my tone for many years." - Scott Henderson
We caught up with World-renowned Fusion Guitarist Scott Henderson at The Iridium Jazz Club in NYC recently and brought back this video - watch it below to see Scott demonstrate how he uses the Maxon SD-9 to help shape his signature tone.
Scott has toured and recorded with bassist Jeff Berlin, Jean-Luc Ponty, Chick Corea and Weather Report's Joe Zawinul. In 1985, Scott joined up with bassist Gary Willis and together they have released ten albums with the critically acclaimed instrumental group Tribal Tech. In 1991, Guitar World magazine declared Henderson the #1 Jazz Guitarist, and he was voted #1 in Guitar Player magazine's annual readers poll in 1992. He is on the faculty at Musician's Institute in Hollywood, and has written columns for Guitar Player and Guitar World Magazines.
